Stop Sitting Behind Your Table: Sell Books At Conventions is designed to give authors who are planning to sell books at events a solid base from which to build their sales pitch as well as the tools necessary to begin pitching their books in person. The presentation includes examples of what types of setups perform well at events and what types of pitches draw people in and help convince them to make a purchase. Also included are tips on how to carry yourself at an event, from how to you should be opening your interactions with attendees to how you should be sending them off whether or not they’ve purchased anything at your table.
Will Dickstein is a native to Las Vegas who, outside of a brief stint in Reno that he prefers not to think about, has lived here his entire life. His first novella Ch05En: Episode 1 was released in 2013. Since then, the Ch05En setting has grown to include nine short works and eight comic books with a full-length novel that is in its second round of edits.
After beginning his professional life working in one Sales environment after another, Will received his Bachelor’s from UNLV in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Marketing and English, moving from there into a full-time position in Marketing for a local federal contractor. With a decade of experience selling and marketing other people’s products in person, Will decided to transfer those skills into selling his own creations within the Ch05En universe, setting up his first table at a convention in 2016. With years of coaching others how to sell various items in-person under his belt, Will has decided to do what he can to help other authors become more comfortable working their own tables at conventions, showcases, and similar events.
