Andres (me), has offered to be the contact person for First Friday. He is trying to get with the organizations so we can sell our books as a group. He will try to join forces with another vendor that is indoors, to be protected from the elements. Which means that it will be more affordable to the authors who participate. When it get’s approved we will rotate our presence at the fair. Our goal is to sell our books collectively.

Erotica vs. Pornography
This evening was an interesting evening. I personally learned to put my prejudice aside and be open minded about other’s tolerance to Erotica. Sex is a subject that we don’t talk about, yet we do it. Lol.
Our speaker Lauren Tallman spoke about how to write Erotica. She was very informative and her comparisons and metaphors were openly accepted and educational. I now know the difference.
“Erotica is defined as ‘literature or art intended to arouse sexual desire.’ Unfortunately, it’s been confused with Pornography, which is defined as ‘manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction.”
During the Q&A, she dispelled many myths about it. Such as demographics and differences between man and women.
She used her own character Remi from her book (I’ll seek link for you), and her Best Seller‘How to Have and Affair and not Get Caught.’
While on the Subject. Gregory suggested we have a Sex Night. No not what you think. A group meeting that we as writers are open to discuss writing erotica. For those of us who are interested in the subject, we will see you there. Our tentative first meeting will be the at the end of February. Looking forward to going.

Show Vs Tell
Important Questions answered by a Community of Writers
Marshal Prescott has an important question to ask us. Let’s help him out by giving him an answer that may help him. If you know of resources that he can go to, please provide them.
Please write a paragraph of the above scene and give us an example of show vs tell, to hone in your answer.
Q: I have noticed there has been a lot of telling in the readings lately. I know that we are supposed to show not tell. But is there any rules regarding telling. In other words, what makes telling more acceptable? Is it more acceptable if the telling flows smoothly and contains more character attributes?

Judy Logan wrote about why she wrote “Shelter Me”
Shelter Me grew out of two pivotal experiences in my life: working in a psychiatric department for a community hospital, and hearing my grandmother cry over my deceased grandfather.
In the late 1980s and the early 1990s I was the Coordinator of Administrative Services in the department of psychiatry at Boston Regional Medical Center, where we had nine units ranging from psychological testing to inpatient and outpatient services. Read More.

Business Cards
Authors should have a business card handy at all times. You never know when you will run in with a fellow writer, an agent, a publisher, or someone that will publish your books. It is the cheapest and most effective way to advertise yourself. The Author. You are now responsible to get the word out that you write.
Gregory says
Welcome! Excellent. Cool! Thank you!
Judy Shine Logan says
Hey Andres.
The link to read more about my reason for writing Shelter Me isn’t working.
Thanks, my friend.

Thanks Andres, this looks great. You are very brave to tackle such a big job.
I would like to see a discussion of the difference between saying “wood as opposed to wooden, woke vs. awoke, wool vs. woolen. I’m sure there are other examples. Any one know a rule?
Andres Fragoso says
Thank you for your kind words. Yes it is a big job and I am so happy to do it. I get to do what I love to do. I will post the questions in the upcoming weeks. Thank you.
