Henderson Writers Group prides itself on helping writers improve on their craft. With that in mind, we offer up the following:
Reading for Critique (R&C)
Paid members who have requested in advance may read and then receive critique. Though you must be a member to read, anyone present can offer critique, either verbally or by marking up a digital copy.
R&C Meetings (Pacific Time)
Monday 6:30 pm
Wednesday 6:30 pm (first and third Wednesdays only)
Thursday 2:00 pm
Additionally, we hold an in-person meeting on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at Las Vegas Books. The bookstore is located at 4790 S. Eastern Ave (at Tropicana Rd, next to Burlington).
Book Club
On the second Wednesday of each month, members and non-members meet online at 6:30 pm (Pacific) to discuss the latest book recommended by those who attend this event. To learn more about the reading list, check out our Meetup page.
Special Events
On the first Monday of each month (unless it’s a holiday), HWG brings in a guest speaker to broaden on writing knowledge. And then having a fifth Wednesday in any given month is special, but we have made it more so by hosting a guest speaker or other special event on this night.
Las Vegas Screenwriters Group
NEW! The Las Vegas Screenwriters Group is now part of Henderson Writers Group! Starting July 2024, you can join us in person on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Axcel Ship and Print, located at 1386 S. Boulder Hwy, Suite 130, Henderson NV 89015. These meetings are only in person.
Board Meetings
A non-profit doesn’t run itself, so our board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month online to keep things going smoothly. If you have business to bring to the board, email the president at president@hendersonwritersgroup.com.
